Last opportunity for vaccine ‘walk-ins’

Eligible patients can get their winter Covid-19 vaccine at the International Riviera Centre in Torquay today (Wednesday, November 24).

The clinic is open to ‘walk-ins’ from 8.30am to 4.45pm today – and again on Monday, December 11.

These are the clinic’s final ‘walk-in’ dates before the winter programme ends on December 15. If you want to get the vaccine on alternative days, you’ll need to book an appointment through the national booking service or by calling 119.

Patients are eligible for a winter vaccine if they are:

  • Aged 65 or over (by 31 March 2024)

  • Aged between five and 65 and at increased risk (for example, you have a long-term lung condition, heart condition or weakened immune system)

  • Living in a care home for older adults

  • A frontline health or social care worker

  • A carer

  • Aged 12 to 64 and live with someone with a weakened immune system.

The area’s vaccine service is run by Torbay General Practice (TGP) – an alliance of ten local GP practices.
